Cultivar: Taggiasca (origin - Italy)
Taggiasca was developed by Benedictine monks from the town of Taggia; and is used to make green Ligurian style olives. They are then known as Benedictine olives, of course!
My opinion of Taggascia is improving. Despite losing half our trees to the December 2008 storms, the remainder are doing very well relatively speaking.

Five Taggascia trees, in the bottom and left foreground looking up the hill. In comparison, the row of trees immediately behind the Taggascia are Amphissis. All are doing fairly good!
