Cultivar: Uc 49-14 (origin - U. S.)
Uc 49-14 is apparently a hybrid developed by researchers associated with U.C. Davis (in 1949?). It apparently never made it commercially, as the only references to it on the WWW are to the U. S. National Clonal Germplasm Repository, or to us. Even in Australia, where other U. C. hybrids are being planted, Uc 49-14 apparently isn’t worth growing. So, that’s the good and the bad: odds are nobody has ever tried it here in Oregon. Who knows - it may be just the thing for us, as we are not California or Australia or anywhere else olives have been trialed!
(Or have I gone over the edge; crossed over to the Dark Side and am engaging in flights of marketing copywriting fantasy?)
